Kent batsman Joe Denly hit an unbeaten 188 on the first day of the England Performance Programme team's game against Nashua Titans on Tuesday.

Denly (pictured), batting at number three, rescued England from 133-6 to close the day on 345-7 at the LC de Villiers Oval in Pretoria, South Africa.

County team-mate James Tredwell also did his international ambitions no harm with 70 before he fell leg before to the new ball.

Denly hit 23 fours and four sixes from 251 deliveries as his innings included a number of pull shots and straight drives.
