Jimmy Adams wants Ben Harmison to rediscover his batting form after a disappointing run of scores.

The 26-year-old all-rounder, who joined Kent on a one-year deal from Durham in the winter, has failed to reach 50 in 11 innings so far this summer, averaging less than 27.

Harmison made his top score of 46 against Northamptonshire in May and has only passed 40 on two other occasions but head coach Adams is keeping faith with him.

Kent coach Adams (pictured) said: "Ben is not under pressure from us and I am backing him to come good. He is frustrated at seeing other people in the team getting runs and wants to be a part of it himself, which is a good
thing."

A seventh draw in nine Championship matches against the Welshmen dropped Kent to fourth in the Division 2 table.

In a season dominated by rain-affected draws, only 18 matches out of 45 completed so far have produced positive results.
