Kent have signed South African Charl Langeveldt for their Friends Life t20 campaign which begins against his former club Somerset at Tunbridge Wells on Friday.
The 36-year-old seam bowler arrives in England on Thursday morning from Johannesburg after Indian Premier League duty with runners–up Bangalore Royal Chargers. He played three matches in the competition, but didn’t feature in the Chargers' 58-run defeat against champions Chennai Super Kings in the final on Saturday.
Langeveldt has also had spells with Derbyshire and Leicestershire and has played six Tests and 72 one-day internationals for South Africa.
He said: "I am really looking forward to my time with Kent, and the opportunity to play twenty20 cricket."
Kent director of cricket Paul Farbrace said: "I am delighted that Charl is playing for Kent. His considerable experience will give us a boost, and we look forward to welcoming him into the team."
