Kent were fired out for the fourth lowest total in domestic t20 history as they crashed to a 69-run defeat to Hampshire at the Rose Bowl on Thursday.
Hampshire skipper Dominic Cork won toss, elected to bat, but then saw his side restricted to 141- 6 from their 20 overs.
The most significant contribution came from Neil McKenzie who made 48 from 46 balls.
Martin van Jaarsveld (pictured) was, unusually, the pick of the Kent bowlers taking 3-20 from his four overs, including both openers Jimmy Adams and Michael Lumb.
Kent’s reply got off to a disastrous start from which they never recovered.
Joe Denly and Azhar Mahmood went inside the first two overs without a run on the board.
Skipper Rob Key followed in the third over to leave Kent in all sorts of trouble on 3-2.
Darren Stevens (20), Wahab Riaz (11) and Adam Ball (15) were the only players to reach double figures while the remaining batsmen were out cheaply.
With Martin van Jaarsveld unable to bat due to a finger injury sustained while fielding, Kent were all out for 72 in only 14 overs.
