A festive visit by a delegation of players and officials from Kent Cricket Club to children at Kent and Canterbury Hospital was just what the doctor ordered to raise spirits - particularly as they came bearing gifts.
The group, including wicket keeper Paul Dixie and all-rounder Matt Coles as well as new coach Paul Farbrace, dropped in on Dolphin Ward - a day ward where young patients are assessed.
They brought with them chocolates, toys and books for the youngsters to help cheer them up.
The delegation then went to visit more children at the QEQM Hospital in Thanet where some of the sick young patients will have to spend Christmas.
