Kent firefighter dies at 50

A LONG-SERVING Kent firefighter, Terry Hunt, has died after a short illness. He was 50.

Mr Hunt, who spent more than 20 years working for the Kent Fire and Rescue Service, will be given a full brigade salute by colleagues as his hearse is driven past Strood Fire Station, before his funeral.

Terry, who was stationed at Strood on Red Watch, died on March 14. He leaves his wife Carol and two children.

The family lived in Chestnut Road, Strood, until recently when they moved to East Peckham, near Maidstone.

The funeral service will be held at Medway Crematorium at Robin Hood Lane, Chatham, on Wednesday. Enquiries to T Allen Funeral Services, Wells Road, Strood, 01634 295552.
