More on KentOnline
Kent has the second-most festively named roads in the UK, it's been revealed.
The county has 480 Christmas-themed street names, second only to the Midlands' 560, according to Royal Mail.
Crackers including Sleigh Road in Sturry, Bell Road in Sittingbourne and er... Cracker Court in Rochester.
High Halstow even boasts a Christmas Lane, though our favourite has got to be Plum Pudding Lane in Dargate.
The most common Christmas street name in Kent seems to be Holly Road, with examples in Petham and Romney Marsh, to name but two.
This is reflected nationally with Holly Road, or variations thereof, turning up in the Royal Mail's database far more than most seasonal street names with about 990 listings.
The address database also revealed some unusual festive street names such as Christmas Pie Avenue, Myrrh Street, Jingles Lane, Bethlehem Way, and Garland Place.
The ratings came from analysis of Royal Mail’s database of all 29 million UK addresses.
Steve Rooney, Head of Royal Mail’s address management unit, said: “We decided to find out how well Christmas themes were represented on street names.
"The team came up with a number of words closely linked to Christmas, drew up a shortlist and began to investigate. We found the Christmas theme was very well represented and we had a lot of fun doing it."
The top ten Christmas themed Street names* are:
Holly Street
Bell Lane
Mary Street
Angel Lane
Star Road
Bow Street
Festival Place
Noel Road
Gold Street
Garland Street
*These include variations such as street/lane/close/avenue etc
