The weather may still scupper Kent's slim chances of sneaking into the quarter-finals of the Friends Provident Trophy for the second time in three days when they face Warwickshire Bears at Edgbaston today.

Having seen their chances of beating Scotland wrecked by rain in Edinburgh on Monday, heavy rain and showers are predicted to hold up play in Birmingham.

Kent need to win and improve their poor run-rate, to have any chance of pipping Middlesex to runners-up spot behind unbeaten group winners Somerset and a place in the last eight draw which takes place tonight.

South African all-rounder Wayne Parnell (pictured above) makes his final appearance for the county, before returning home on Thursday.

Kent select from the same squad with James Hockley and Rob Ferley chasing the final place.

Meanwhile batsman Darren Stevens has been given two more days to help his recovery from a broken finger. Plans for him to have a fitness test at Edgbaston have been delayed.
