Motorists are being told to take care on untreated roads this evening as a weather warning for ice has been issued.
The Met Office has announced it expects conditions to reach sub-zero after 4pm today resulting in icy patches forming.
The yellow warning is set to last until 11am tomorrow morning.
The whole of Kent is affected, as well as other parts of the country which are also experiencing snow and cold conditions.
A spokesman for the weather service said: "Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces are possible.
"Earlier rain, sleet and snow across eastern England will clear late on Wednesday afternoon with icy patches expected to readily develop through the evening on untreated surfaces."
