People from across Kent are sharing their reactions to Brexit Day - a day of celebration for some and a sombre time for others.
The UK will withdraw from the EU at 11pm, marking the start of the transition period and continued negotiations for a trade deal.
The Archbishop of Canterbury was up early this morning with a prayer for the nation.
He prayed that people "in a world of need, turn our vision outwards" as the "nation begins it's new adventure."
Led By Donkeys shared a video of two World War II veterans saying goodbye to the EU, projected onto the White Cliffs of Dover.
Brigadier Goodall, 98, remarks on the comradeship between the people of Europe and says: "I feel really depressed at the idea that we are leaving Europe because it has meant so much to me."
The video closes with a single yellow star on a blue background with the words "This is our star. Look after it for us."
Rosie Duffield, the Labour MP for Canterbury, later retweeted the video.
Charlie Elphicke, the former Conservative MP for Dover and Deal, posted the cover of the the Daily Mail's special Brexit Day issue and made a call for unity in Britain's future.
Even some remainers are relieved the UK is leaving today. Connor Whitehead, from Gravesend, voted remain but laments the time which has been wasted.
However, not everyone is losing their sense of Euopeanness today, as Brendan Reidy, from Barming, points out.
Others in the county took the day as an opportunity to have a little fun.
Daniel W, from Ashford, acted completely oblivious to the whole occasion.
And Thom Burgess, from Canterbury, used his cat to illustrate the mood of the day.
