SACRIFICES made by the men and women of Kent who died for their country in two world wars and other conflicts have been remembered throughout the county.
Thousands of people turned out to pay tribute on Remembrance Sunday.
In Maidstone, the reading was delivered by the Mayor of Maidstone, Cllr Pat Marshall, and three hymns, including the national anthem, were sung by the parade and the large crowd of spectators undeterred by the persistent drizzle.
As in other areas, the Last Post was sounded before a two minutes' silence and wreaths were laid at the foot of the war memorial.
