The Kent School Games has been voted such a success that the model is going to be taken nationwide.
MP for Faversham & Mid-Kent and new Sports & Olympics Minister Hugh Robertson says he is considering how to implement the format across the whole country after the success of the second biennial competition earlier this month.
Kent County Council leader Paul Carter said: "It’s been a phenomenal success – over 550 schools participating, 30,000 young people.
"It’s really good news to hear that the new Sports Minister Hugh Robertson has planned to model a whole UK school games based on what we started here in Kent two years ago."
He added: "I’m delighted it’s been a great success, but most importantly a success for all of those young people that have taken part in the Kent School Games."
