Kent secured a 69-run win over LV= Division 2 promotion-chasing Middlesex in the final hour of action at Canterbury on Saturday evening.
For the second successive week Kent rallied from a losing position to record victory and made it four-straight wins in the process.
Joe Denly (55) was short on support in Kent's first innings and it needed Matt Coles' 41 at number 10 to help them reach 242.
The visitors replied strongly, Sam Robson making 95 and Dawid Malan adding 68, as they reached 147-1 and then 204-2, before a burst of four wickets for the addition of five runs - two apiece for Coles and James Tredwell - gave the hosts the initiative, and Middlesex were eventually dismissed for 303, with Wahab Riaz and Coles finishing with three apiece and Darren Stevens (pictured) and Tredwell two.
Denly rattled 47 to lead the Kent fightback with Martin van Jaarsveld adding a patient 66 and Geraint Jones 45 - including sharing a sixth-wicket partnership of 93 with Azhar Mahmood.
Resuming on 292-6 on the final day, Kent eventually posted 322, though Mahmood was left stranded, unbeaten on 92.
With Middlesex set 272 to win, the visitors made a stumbling start, slumping to 30-4 and 51-5, thanks to a fine spell from Stevens (4-52), who took three wickets in four balls either side of lunch to put Kent within sight of the winning post.
Staunch defence by Jamie Dalrymple frustrated the home attack who were unable to keep the momentum going as 51-5 became 100-5 and then 148-6 and ignite faint hopes of a Middlesex victory.
However Adam Ball struck twice in as many balls to dismiss Tom Smith - who made just seven from 71 balls in almost two hours - and Tim Murtagh for a golden duck before the visitors were eventually dismissed for 202 with Dalrymple finishing with an unbeaten 108 with James Tredwell taking the final two wickets.
