Kent teams finished in top five positions in all six races at the South East Schools Inter-Counties Cross Country at Basildon on Saturday.
Rebecca Weston, pictured, (Invicta, 2nd) and Ruth Bourne (Tonbridge, 3rd) made the individual podium in their races as medals were hard to achieve in this match for teams from Kent, Berkshire, Essex, Hampshire, Surrey and Sussex.
Jamie Bryant (Tonbridge, 8th), Adam Gilbert (Medway and Maidstone, 17th) and Tom Wright (Bexley, 18th) headed the senior boy’s fifth placed team.
The intermediate boys were fourth with Corey De’ath (9th), Hanro Roussouw (13th) and Nathan Marsh (16th) of Tonbridge prominent.
The junior boys were also fourth, led by Alasdair Kinloch (Thanet, 15th) and Euan Nicholls (Tonbridge, 19th) well placed.
Rebecca Weston’s individual silver set the senior girls on their way to fifth place, supported by Amber Reed (Blackheath and Bromley, 14th).
Ruth Bourne’s bronze in the intermediate girls was backed by top ten finishes from Kate Curran (Blackheath and Bromley, 8th) and Alice Wood (Tonbridge, 9th) as the team finished fourth.
Sabrinha Sinha (Cambridge Harriers, 7th), Anna Weston (Invicta, 8th) and Georgina Taylor (Blackheath and Bromley, 10th) saw another near miss in the team medals as Kent’s junior girls were also fourth.
