Kent Spitfires ended their Friends Provident t20 campaign with an impressive 59-run victory over Somerset Sabres at Taunton on Sunday.
However, Essex's defeat against Middlesex means Somerset finish top of the South Group and meet Northants in the last eight, while Kent finish a disappointing seventh - with seven wins from their 16 games.
An impressive bowling display saw the Sabres dismissed for just 82 chasing 142 to win. It was the lowest Twenty20 score in their history.
Opener Joe Denly (pictured) made 65 as Kent were bowled out for 141, with Darren Stevens (39) the only other man to make double figures.
After Kent won the toss they were reduced to 61-4 before a fifth-wicket stand of 63 between Denly and Stevens.
When Stevens fell it sparked a collapse that saw Kent lose their last six wickets for 17 runs as Alfonso Thomas - the leading wicket-taker in the FP t20 - picked up 3-21.
Marcus Trescothick (12) hit three fours in the opening over of the hosts' reply but in clipping Stevens to mid-wicket, he set the tone for the Sabres' poor reply.
Simon Cook (3-13) and James Tredwell (3-13) ran through the middle order as Somerset were brushed aside.
