Kent Spitfires need just one point from their final Clydesdale Bank 40 Group C game against Sussex at Canterbury on Bank Holiday Monday to qualify for the semi-finals following Wednesday night's 30-run success over Yorkshire Carnegie at St Lawrence.
Captain Rob Key (pictured) led the way with his first one-day hundred in four years as the Spitfires posted a challenging total of 226-5 after losing the toss.
The former England batsman, who figured in a third-wicket stand of 71 with Darren Stevens (43), hit six fours and two sixes in his century before departing for 101 to a standing ovation.
Yorkshire made a quickfire start to their reply through Andrew Gale and Phil Jaques, who posted 50 inside six overs, before Jaques was run out for 26.
Yorkshire skipper Andrew Gale and Adam Lyth then added 50 for the third wicket before Lyth became the first of spinner James Tredwell's three wickets.
Then, once Gale had been stumped off Tredwell, Kent were in always in control and Yorkshire eventually succumbed to 196 all out with 10 balls to spare.
