It's all change on kmfm Breakfast from September, when Garry and Claire will be the new line-up waking up Kent.
After five years of early starts, regular host Laura Crockett is taking a break to welcome her first baby and Claire Lawson from Maidstone will be setting her alarm instead.
The announcement of the new line-up was made on air this morning, with Claire joining Garry and Laura to talk about the new show which launches on Monday, September 6 at 6am.
Claire said: “I love being on kmfm at the weekend so I’m over the moon to have been given the opportunity to present the breakfast show.
"We listen every morning and play along to 'Say It' on the school run so I literally can’t wait to be in the hot seat.
"Garry is so much fun and I can’t wait to be by his side entertaining Kent in the mornings from September.”
Claire, who is no stranger to radio in Kent, having first been heard in the county on Invicta FM, has been presenting on kmfm weekends for two years and has been on breakfast covering for Laura during that time.
Laura said: “I will miss kmfm Breakfast so much but the early alarms and looking after Garry every morning have definitely given me some good practice for the baby.
"Claire has been brilliant whenever she has covered for me in the past and I know her and Garry will have loads of fun waking up Kent from September – I will definitely be tuning in.”
Garry said: “I love working with Claire and we always have a laugh which is what the show is all about – helping people wake up with a smile on their face no matter the weather or what is coming up in their day.”
From September, kmfm Breakfast with Garry and Claire will still have the biggest hits, competitions including ‘Say It’, ‘Wilson’s Whoppa’, showbiz guests, all the local news, travel and laughs you know and love.
Laura is set to re-join the show in summer 2022 and the team will be working in the background to help her return when she is ready.
Jack Miles joins kmfm at the weekend replacing Claire on Saturday and Sunday.
