It is exactly a year until the 2012 Olympic games get under way in London and events are taking place across the UK to celebrate.
In Kent, hundreds of young people will be running the Medway Mile through Rochester Castle Gardens tonight.
The county's most famous Olympian Dame Kelly Holmes believes such events will inspire athletes of the future.
The middle distance runner, who brought home two gold medals from Athens in 2004, said: "Kent is really putting itself on the map to insure that everybody really feels part of the games.
"If you've got the opportunity to go than you have to go, even just to feel the vibes but if you haven't than there's going to be so much going on in the county that you'll know you're in an Olympic and Paralympic period and I think that's what will be the inspiration to everyone."
As excitement builds, another country has also agreed to come to train in Kent ahead of the games next year.
Nepal joins the growing list of nations already signed up, which means there is now more countries training in the county than any other place in the UK.
But Kent can also boast a number of its own Olympic hopefuls but do they have what it takes to make it all the way?
