More on KentOnline
Many brave souls have been defeated by Kent's gut-busting food challenges - but are you tough enough to take one on?
From oysters to stinging nettles, there really is something for anyone with a strong enough stomach.
Here's seven of Kent's most weird and wonderful food competitions.
1 - Cherry pie eating at Brogdale Cherry Fair, Faversham
This fun and fruity challenge is perfect for anyone who doesn't mind getting a bit of pie on their face.
Competitors go head-to-head in an attempt to eat a cherry pie the fastest - without using their hands.
It takes place at the popular Brogdale Cherry Fair every year - a celebration of the delights of the Kentish cherry.
2 - Hot Rod Diner, Northfleet
Not content with just one challenge, chefs at Hot Rod Diner offer their bravest customers a different supersized dish every Wednesday.
From giant burgers to a quadruple hot dog, these gigantic meals are free to anyone who can eat them within a specified time limit.
Winners also earn themselves a place on the diner's wall of fame, with their picture displayed for all to see.
Booking is advised, as the events can fill up quickly, and normal-sized portions are on offer for those who'd prefer to watch from the sidelines.
3 Oyster eating at Whitstable Oyster Festival
This iconic Kent festival not only offers guests an array of fun activities, but the chance to be crowned the oyster-eating champion.
The oyster is often regarded as one of the world's finest seafood luxuries.
Contestants attempt to swallow six oysters and a pint of beer in the fastest time to be crowned champion.
The popular event takes place every year, alongside the infamous oyster parade, mud tug and live music.
4 The Rising Sun, Beltinge
The Rising Sun in Beltinge has organised a fete for Saturday, August 18, which will feature stalls, bouncy castles and a barbecue, alongside the man vs food competition.
The gut-busting challenge will be available for one day only, to raise money in honour of pub regular Sheena Andrews, who died in May after a long battle with cancer.
If you think you can devour around 6,000 calories of burger, onion rings, chips and a milkshake, why not give it a go?
All money raised will go towards building a sensory room for disabled children at St Paulinus Primary School in Dartford.
5 Chilli eating at the Great Kent Chilli Festival, Rolvenden
Even the biggest chilli fan might find this competition a bit too hot to handle.
Contestants attempt to scoff as many of the spicy peppers as they can, with organisers turning up the heat with each round.
They are given two minutes to eat each chilli, and they can't drink anything during the competition.
The festival came to Hole Park, one of the county's most beautiful gardens, for the first time this year.
6 Man vs 7, 7 Hotel Diner, Halstead
This colossal challenge gives participants just 45 minutes to eat a whopping 40oz burger, smothered in cheese, bacon barbecue beans and onion rings.
Those brave enough to take on the mammoth challenge will also be served up fries, coleslaw and a milkshake.
Other food challenges available at the venue include the Deputy Dawg, 7 Deadly Wings and 7 Wonder Waffles.
Complete the challenges and your food is free, but fail and you have to pay - and end up on the wall of shame.
7 Penny Theatre, Canterbury
The Penny Theatre offers guests a number of challenges from giant burgers to daring deserts.
Those able to defeat the challenge will walk away with their very own free t-shirt, although potentially also a stomach ache.
Chefs at the venue continue to create new and exciting feasts, so visit the Penny Theatre Facebook page for more details.
