Audio: Kent is a hotspot
for underage drinking

Chris Sorek, chief executive of alcohol awareness charity
Drinkaware, said: “Underage drinking in the UK is a problem that
needs to be tackled, now more than ever.

"Although not all young people drink, those that do are drinking
earlier, more regularly and more often - frequently with
worrying results.

"Drinking to excess can increase the chances of a young person
having unprotected sex, being a victim or a perpetrator of a crime
and having an accident."

Overall, admissions are up nearly 20 per cent over the last 5
years in some parts of Kent.
