NISSAN'S pick-ups are doing so well that the company has added another derivative - the Navara King Cab.
Priced at £14,835 if VAT is not an issue or, if it is, £17,399 , on (and off) the road, the King Cab has no royal connections but does have space for several corgis behind the front seats. And with its foldaway jump seats, can accommodate four people - or animals.
Huge bumpers and wheel-arch extensions are painted to match the body in a choice of metallic Blade Silver, Shiraz or, at extra cost, two-tone Aruba Blue over Blade Silver. There are also chunky four-spoke 16 inch alloy wheels and aluminium side steps. Not a truck for the shy.
Inside, it is kitted out in sports rather than work wear. The Primera-derived four-spoke steering wheel is leather trimmed, like the gear and 4x4 knobs and from the low-slung (for a truck) velour upholstered seat, the driver looks out over white-backed instruments, including a tachometer.
There are electric windows, a front-loading CD player and electronic climate control to play with. The 2.5-litre turbodiesel engine shift the truck to 62 mph in 13.3 seconds.
