A Chatham woman is celebrating after receiving a surprise call telling her she'd won a grand in cash.

Cathleen Breen had entered kmfm's Thousand Pound Friday competition, in which listeners text in for a chance of winning the jackpot, and have the money delivered to their door.

She told DJ Glen Scott she was attending a family barbecue over the weekend and the win would make sure she arrives well stocked.

kmfm has given away £6,000 over the summer; £1,000 every Friday, and the winning continues on Monday with the station's biggest ever competition giveaway.
