Knife-carrying robber targets store

POLICE in West Kent are hunting a young man who threatened a member of staff with a knife during a robbery at a general store.

The robbery happened at the Costcutters Store in London Road, Southborough, near Tunbridge Wells.

After producing the knife, the robber demanded money from the staff member who was behind a counter. An unknown amount of cash was handed over from the till and the man left the shop.

In nearby Holden Park Road, he climbed into a white car which then drove off towards Charles Street. It is believed the car was driven by another man.

The robber is white and thought to be aged 19 or 20. He was wearing a blue hooded top, baseball cap and had his face covered by some type of mask. Nobody was hurt during the incident which happened at about 5pm on Friday.
