KENT Police are hunting two robbers who forced their way into a couple'e home and threatened them with knives.

The couple were watching TV at their property in Whitstable when they answered a knock at the door.

A man barged in and a struggle began in which the 46-year-old male occupant suffered minor cuts to his hand and arm. The woman, aged 45, was threatened with a chopping knife by a second man. She was unhurt.

The intruders grabbed a mobile phone and two rings from the coffee table and fled, pursued by the couple's dog. The attack happened at about 10.30pm on Sunday.

The first offender is described as white, aged in his 20s, of slim build, about 6ft tall, and with dark hair. He was wearing a dark jumper with light horizontal lines and a dark scarf.

The other intruder is thought to be aged between 25 and 28, white, of medium build, 5ft 6in to 5ft 8in tall with a shaved head.

He was wearing a waist-length jacket and a dark coloured scarf.

Det Sgt Jeff Vincett said: "Fortunately, these types of burglaries are rare in Kent but it was nonetheless a frightening experience for the couple.

"We would appeal to anyone who may have information about the two men, or saw them in the area of the house or running away, to contact police as soon as possible."
