A MAN has been attacked by a gang wielding knives and machetes in Chatham. Six or seven men set upon him in the street, lacerating his back, head, arms and legs.
A Kent Ambulance spokesman said: "It was a particularly nasty attack. Luckily the victim's wounds were superficial. There was no major arterial bleeding."
The man, aged 38, was attacked just after 8pm on Wednesday in Symons Avenue. He was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to Gillingham's Medway Maritime Hospital.
A police spokesman said no one had been arrested and officers were continuing their investigations.
He added: "It looks like it was a dispute between neighbours. The man's injuries were not life-threatening and he discharged himself from hospital."
