A man and a woman have
been bailed after a 14-year-old was killed in a crash last
night.

The 27-year-old woman and a man, 23, are due to return to a Kent
police station at a later date.

It comes after tributes were paid
to Kyle Coen, from Sittingbourne, who was knocked off his bike
by a car in Bapchild.

Officers have recovered a grey Fiat Bravo, believed to be the
car that hit Kyle, close to the scene.

Kyle, who attended Sittingbourne Community College, was hit on
the A2 London Road in Bapchild, near Sittingbourne, as he
cycled to his girlfriend's home.

Kyle has been described as a "gentle, hard-working
lad" who had "many, many friends".

Floral tributes to Kyle have been left at the side of the road
near where he was knocked down.

The mother of Kyle's best friend Alex Stock, also
14, revealed the pair had been "laughing and joking" together
on a day out just hours before he was killed.

Linda Stock, from Bapchild, said: "They've been inseparable
since they broke up from school. They had so many plans.

"Alex was with Kyle all yesterday. They'd had such a lovely day.
They'd been into Faversham to look in the bike shop.

"They were at our house then went to Alex's grandfather's and
dug the pond out with him. They had been laughing and joking.

"Kyle was going to see his girlfriend and was on his way. It was
just sheer luck he was not with him."

Linda, pictured below, said the boys loved their BMX bikes
and spent hours working on their bikes.

Linda said Kyle was a good, hard-working lad who would help
anyone.

She added: "He was a very gentle, good lad - never been in any
trouble. I feel so much for his family. My heart and prayers go out
to them. It's such a tragedy."

Kyle's head teacher Neil Golding (pictured below) said:
"Sittingbourne Community College is deeply saddened by the tragic
news.

"Kyle had only been with us for one year since moving
to the area from Bournemouth in 2011.

"In the short time he was with us he was a popular boy and made
many, many friends. He was highly thought of by members of
staff.

"Our thoughts are very much with his family at this sad
time.

"We will do all that we can to support our students here at SCC
particularly when children return in September."

Kyle was riding a silver bicycle near Bapchild Cricket Club
towards Faversham when he was hit from behind by the car at about
9pm.

The driver then sped off in the direction of Teynham.

Kyle was treated by paramedics, but pronounced dead at
the scene.

Kent Police officers are keen to speak to anyone who saw a grey
Fiat Bravo in the area at the time of the crash.
