Larkfield assault victim hit with object in bag

A MAN suffered permanent damage to one of his eyes following a serious assault in the county.

The 60-year-old victim was walking along London Road, towards the junction with Lunsford Lane, Larkfield, at about 8.30pm on Sunday.

He was approached by a man who began to speak to him before hitting him in the face with an object concealed inside a carrier bag.

The offender is described as a white man, aged between 17 and 20 and 5ft 10ins tall. He was wearing a pale coloured baseball cap.

It is thought he had been standing with a group of people before the attack.
