Gillingham could be without leading scorer Simeon Jackson for their game at Southampton on Saturday.
Jackson (pictured) has bagged nine goals already this season but is a doubt for the League 1 trip after picking up a hamstring injury in last weekend’s draw against Norwich.
Boss Mark Stimson substituted the striker against Norwich after Jackson felt a twinge. At first the injury was put down to cramp but it was later revealed to be more serious.
Stimson said: "He could be as big as losing Simon King. He (King) is probably the best left-footed central defender in the division and we could be without one of the best strikers in the division on Saturday."
