A man has been taken to hospital with chest pains after inhaling fumes from a defective fridge - while his neighbours were evacuated from four flats.

Firefighters, police and ambulance crews raced to the flats in Lockside, Tonbridge, following a leak reported just before 1.20am today.

Fire crews removed the fridge and cleared fumes with a pressure fan.

The injured man was taken to The Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury for treatment.
