Editors are often being told to put their money where their mouth is – and Leo Whitlock is doing just that.
Our editor has stepped up to volunteer for the first Gazette and kmfm Water Walking Challenge at Herons Pool, Herne Bay, on Saturday, March 14.
It involves participants stepping inside a giant hamster ball and trying to walk, run or roll the length of the swimming pool.
Leo said: “Editors have big egos and often think they can walk on water, but this time it will be true!
“I am sure this is the one time the news team and press officers will sing with one voice hoping that I don’t make it to the other side of the pool.”
The event will raise money for the Pilgrims Hospice, which is to receive 70 per cent of proceeds with children’s road safety charity Kent Walking Bus being given the remaining 30 per cent.
To take part participants must pledge to raise a minimum of £75. This event is for adults only and there is a maximum weight restriction of 15 stone.
More event sponsors are needed. To discuss this contact Simon Dolby on 07989 164 752.
