Ashford's Leon Camier enjoyed a successful return to the race track in Spain last week.

Camier was forced to miss the final two rounds of this year’s World Superbike Championship after breaking his wrist at the Nurburgring in September but suffered no ill-effects at the test session at Motorland Aragon circuit

Speaking after the first day, the Aprilia Alitalia rider told his official website: "We didn’t try anything new with the bike or the settings, we just concentrated on learning the track, as I’ve not ridden here before and on seeing how my wrist was. It did get weaker and weaker as the day went on but that’s what we expected."

Camier ended the three-day test with a best time of 1min 58.7sec and the 2009 British Superbike champion will head to the next test in Phillip Island, Australia, in a positive mood.

"The test ended up pretty good for us," said Camier after day three. "I felt better and better on the bike, even though on the last day it was pretty cold and that made my wrist hurt a bit more.

"In between the two tests, I’m hoping I can get to attend the California Superbike School and spend some time with (motorcycle coach) Keith Code to try a few new things and work on some visual techniques."
