Lifeboat crews rescue 13 people

A total of 13 people are indebted to Ramsgate RNLI crews following four rescues over the bank holiday weekend.

The inshore lifeboat Bob Turnbull went to the aid of an adult and two children in the stricken motorboat Chapps II on Saturday (May 3) just after 5pm.

It had lost engine power and was stranded on rocks off Dumpton Gap. The boat was towed back to Ramsgate.

At 3pm on Sunday, the lifeboat towed the motorboat Secret, with four people on board, back into Ramsgate, after it lost power just outside the harbour entrance.

Engine failure left motorboat Kris stranded by Ramsgate’s old marina pool at 11.20am on Monday.

That evening at 6.15pm, the fishing boat Carcharin with three on board ran out of fuel two miles south of the harbour.

Both boats were towed back into Ramsgate.
