Lifeboat crews were scrambled amid reports of a large disturbance on the beach at Leysdown this morning.

A full air and sea search was mounted just after midnight, with Whitstable lifeboat and Sheerness inshore lifeboat involved.

It came after police reported two people missing after the disturbance, and there were concerns they may have gone into the water.

At 1.30am police confirmed everyone had been accounted for and all involved were stood down.
