8.48pm - Greene was fourth but never challenged. Felix Sanchez of Dom Rep rolled back the years to win in 47.63 with Culson losing silver at the last, Michael Tinsley benefitting and the Puerto Rican taking bronze. I'm a bit disappointed to be completely honest.

But it means Jack Green could be winning Olympic gold in 14 years I suppose.

8.42pm - PSD is in the final, but only after a disqualification. Phew.

Usain Bolt has just received his gold medal yards infront of me and now it's time for Dai Greene. He looks pumped here.

8.26pm - PSD did her job. Crowd are up. She was third in 55.19 - at the moment she's in the final as a fastest loser. One heat to come and GB's Elidh Child is in it.

8.21pm - I hate being right. Third and final attempt and very close, but Bleasdale clipped the bar and it crashed down like Holly, and the atmosphere.

Perri Shakes-Drayton will try to get everyone back up now in the 400m hurdles semi-finals.

8.15pm - A second miss for Bleasdale. Looks to me like her head has gone, but I'd love to be proved wrong.

Half an hour til Dai Greene!

8.05pm - The standard is rising all the time and I fear Holly might get left behind. Four over at 4.55m but Holly's missed already.

7.50pm - Bleasdale soars over the bar with her final attempt at 4.45m on a cloud of British roars.

The relief is palpable. Five women over that height now. Holly will vault again.

7.28pm - An absolutely blood-curdling scream from a female shot-putter. Unfortunately it coincided with the quiet spell before the start of a 200m heat. Lots of nervous looks around among the crowd.

7.27pm - The GB lads lost 13-4 in the end. They have however made huge strides in this tournament and will benefit massively by the time Rio rolls around.

7.22pm - Bleasdale knocks the bar down with her first attempt at 4.45m. Shame. Huge support.

7.10pm - On the menu tonight is the women's pole vault final - already under way - with the GB crowd sure get behind Holly Bleasdale and try to help lift her over every attempt.

Later Jack Green's training partner Dai Greene will try to add the Olympic title to his World Championship gold. That should be 8.45pm.

How great would it be to win another gold? Am I getting greedy?

7pm - Hello. I'm in the stadium now. Two buses and a five minute walk. Neat!

GB are 10-4 down against Montenegro at the start of the final quarter in their final group game in the Waterpolo Arena.

Back at the Velodrome Trott boosted her chances in the Omnium, winning the elimination stage to re-take the overall lead at the mid-way stage.

6.20pm - Waterpolo underway, and I'm hitting the road. Where will I end up next?

6.19pm - Phew. Ok. Sean King and the GB waterpolo team are in action against Montenegro in just a minute. Their final game of a gruelling but encouraging campaign.

6.13pm - GOLD FOR GB AND JASON KENNY. The Brit justifies his selection ahead of Sir Chris Hoy emphatically with a masterclass. Bauge had nothing. Sorry, three time World Champion Bauge had nothing.

6.08pm - We're about to see the return of Kenny and Bauge. This could be 18. Or it could set-up an incredibly tense decider if Bauge levels at 1-1.

6.07pm - Bronze it is for Perkins. Philip had no answer to his early break up the inside.

6.04pm - Perkins looking to seal a 2-0 win over Philip and secure the bronze medal now. Not long til Kenny goes for gold.

5.49pm - Superb ride from Kenny to snatch it on the line. Got his tactics spot-on there. 1-0 to GB. Good.

Now we have Pendleton trying to close-out her quarter-final, and she does it with ease. Semi-final for her. 2-0.

5.44pm - Here we go. Gold medal, race one, Kenny v Bauge. It's on....

5.41pm - Perkins sneaks it on the line.

5.40pm - Perkins and Philip are taking part in the first race of their bronze medal ride-off.

5.34pm - Trott is third overall with four disciplines remaining.

5.33pm - Meanwhile the points race is over, Trott won the final sprint but was 10th overall. Waiting to see what it does to the overall standings.

5.32pm - I forgot to tell you earlier that Canterbury's Jen Wilson scored in a 7-0 win for South Africa over the USA in hockey Group B.

5.26pm - Yeah. I have pretty much lost the train of what's happening in this race. But Trott is 10th and there are two sprints left. And 15 laps.

5.20pm - 37 laps to go and the leader has lapped the field. Funny old race isn't it!?

5.13pm - Another gold medal for GB after a jump-off in the showjumping at Greenwich Park. That is 17 now. A really incredible number.

Hope we get to see number 18 here a little later!

Great atmosphere here as Laura Trott carves through the field to pick up some sprint points.

Six riders have broken clear. Trott is not among them.

5.02pm - Ok, here we go. the Omnium is back. The points race. A whopping 80 laps with some sprints thrown in for good measure. Trott leads, but can she stay there?

4.48pm - Just seen Vicky Pendleton go 1-0 up in her quarter-final of the women's sprint.

Earlier Laura Trott of GB took first in the flying lap portion of the Omnium.

She leads going into the second of six disciplines, the points race.

4.40pm - Yes he can. Spectacular riding and in the end a comfortable win to go through 2-0 in the best of three contest.

Gregory Bauge will be Kenny's opponent for gold after holding off Shane Perkins of Australia.

4.35 - Kenny about to begin the second race of his semi. Can he go through to the final with a 2-0 win?

4.13pm - Ok, it's a cumulative thing. Six different disciplines, with points awarded for where you finish in each.

We're seeing the opening discipline, the flying lap. The winner will get one point for coming first, the last-placed rider, in 18th, will get 18.

4.11pm - Now it's the Omnium. I'll be honest with you. I'm not too sure what the hell is going on here. I'll investigate.

4.07pm - And Frenchman Bauge is also 1-0 up after coming through strongly to take the first leg of his semi against Perkins.

4.02pm - First race is off and Jason Kenny gets a huge welcome. Here we go....

He wins the first race easily. Good for GB.

3.42pm - Jason Kenny of Great Britain is first-up in the men's sprint semi-finals at 4pm. You might have heard of him, he was picked ahead of Sir Chris Hoy for this event and he's got 38-inch thighs (at least, according to a man on the train this morning!)

He is taking on crowd favourite Njisane Nicholas Phillip (one man, not three) in the last four, with the prospect of French gold medal favourite Gregory Baugue in the final for the winner - assuming the multi-World champion overcomes Australian Shane Perkins.

Also racing this afternoon is one Victoria Pendleton who is up against Belarus' Olga Panarina in the quarter-finals of the women's sprint around 4.43pm.

3.35pm - Beth Tweddle has taken bronze on the women's uneven bars at the North Greenwich Arena.

Is it a big deal? No British woman has won a gymnastics medal at an Olympics since 1928.

This is a very big deal. Lots of good things are happening in a variety of sports in this country at the moment.

3.22pm - Now I really hope these tech problems are behind me. Hello. Good afternoon. I've missed this.

I was last with you at the end of the 100m final last night, but I wasn't really lying in, I was at the Olympic Stadium bright and early to see Lisa D do her thing in the 1,500m. So pleased for her to reach the semis, she is one of the good ones!

So, after the athletics, and taking care of some paper stuff, I've had a decision to make. Where does an Olympic reporter go when he has the pick of any event in the Games.

So I'm at the Velodrome, of the Thunderdome as it's being called. Call me a glory hunter, I don't care. I want to see some glory, and just how much noise 6,000 people in a hot box can make!

12:06: A great start for Dobriskey as she wins her heat in a time of 4mins 13.32sec. She will now progress to Wednesday's semi-final.

The winning margin, two one-hundredths of a second.

12:02: Quite a slow race, but going to be a hot finish for those top six.

11:54: Less than 10m mins to go. Dobriskey goes in heat two. First six through automatically, plus six fastest losers.

Lisa Dobriskey is due on track just after midday today in the 1500m heats at the Olympic Stadium.

The Ashford runner is competing in heat two of the event, scheduled for 12.01pm.

Dobriskey will be looking to better her fourth place finish at the last Olympics, in Beijing, but must first negotiate the qualifiers. The semi-final take place on Wednesday and the final is due on Friday.
