The outcome of the investigation into Swale Borough Council’s long-absent chief executive is to be discussed by councillors on April 22.

Mark Bilsborough has been away from the council since before Christmas 2006, and it is understood he has since received more than £150,000 in salary.

The hearing was interrupted in January after the sudden death of his mother. It was expected that the report would be completed on Tuesday.

A council spokesman said: “The earliest anticipated date for receipt of the report in Swale, as agreed at the hearing, will be April 11.”

The report will then be put to a special meeting of the full council.
