Lorry driver killed in Mway crash

A lorry driver killed in a crash on the M11 came from Maidstone, it has been confirmed.

Zdzislaw Piorko, 53, died when his lorry was involved in a collision with a coach between junctions 9 (Great Chesterford) and 8 (Stansted Airport) of the motorway, in Essex in the early hours of Saturday.

A passenger on the coach, 63-year-old Delia Walker from Yorkshire, was also killed.

Three coach passengers have been admitted to hospital and are being treated for back injuries, the severity of which is being established.

Other passengers were taken to hospital as a precaution and have been released. A company coach has taken passengers to their homes or other destinations.
