The A20 has fully re-opened six hours after a lorry driver was injured when he hit a railway bridge.

The road was closed when the laundry truck and its trailer were skewed across both carriageways just after the Swanley interchange.

The driver, in his 40s, was taken to Darent Valley Hospital with minor injuries.

Heavy queues built up as both sides of the carriageway were closed and traffic was diverted via the M25 roundabout after the lorry ended up on its side at about 10am.

The London-bound carriageway, which was closed at the M20/A20 junction, was re-opened at about 2.20pm.

The coast-bound carriageway, which was closed at Crittals Corner, was re-opened at about 4pm.

An air ambulance was sent to the scene, but the man was taken to hospital by land ambulance.
