Motorists are being warned that the London-bound slip road onto the M2 at junction 5, Sittingbourne, is currently closed.

Police received reports on Friday at 2.46pm that a lorry had overturned on the slip road.

There were no injuries and there was a fuel spill, which has been dealt with. Vehicle recovery services are due to arrive at the scene soon to remove the fully laden lorry.

The slip road is expected to re-open in an hour (4.30pm). In the meantime, motorists are advised to use alternatives routes, such as the M20, to reach the M2.
