Opponents of a proposed lorry park are being encouraged to join a protest march next month.

It follows a series of four public meetings organised by campaign group the Lorry Park Alliance, the latest of which was held in a packed Brabourne village hall on Saturday evening.

The lorry park, near Aldington, is proposed by Kent County Council as an alternative to Operation Stack but has faced stiff opposition since it was announced.

Objectors to the plan are being invited to join the protest march on Saturday, May 3.

It starts at 11am from Sellindge village hall and ends at the Airport Cafe.

Margaret Ludlow, a member of Sellindge Residents' Association, said she hoped the march would attract people from a wide area.

"The politicians are changing their tunes as they see that we are not a walkover and people power does matter," she added.
