Water way to block a motorway!

A trailer containing 27.5 tons of bottled water has become detached from its cab as it was travelling along the M2.

The HGV is blocking two lanes on the London-bound carriageway at Junction 2 for Strood.

The incident, which happened just before 2pm, has closed the slip road and only one lane remains open.

A spokesman for Kent Police said the lorry is not expected to be recovered for several hours.

She added: "It is thought the trailer became detached from the cab because the load was heavy.

"They will have to unload the whole consignment before it can be moved, it is currently across two lanes and the hard shoulder.

"Long delays are expected."
