Festival-goers have been reassured this summer's Lounge on the Farm will go ahead - despite a licence not being granted today.
Canterbury city council's licensing sub-committee met at the Guildhall on Thursday to decide on arrangements.
But instead of giving the go-ahead for a premises licence to organisers, they said more information was needed.
Pauline Goldsack, the council's solicitor, told the hearing: "The members have considered everything and are minded to give Lounge on the Farm a licence, but want all matters to be in place.
"Therefore, we are adjourning so that all matters can come back before the committee."
The three-day music festival headlined by The Streets and Ellie Goulding is due to kick off at Merton Farm on July 8.
Festival organiser Sean Baker said: "People who have bought tickets do not need to worry as the committee has said it is minded to grant us the licences later in the month.
"And we are confident of getting that licence when we come back after the adjournment."
The next hearing of Lounge on the Farm's licence application is April 28.
