A jealous lesbian punched her ex-girlfriend in the stomach after discovering she was pregnant with her teenage brother's baby.

Violent Sabrina Clark, 20, pleaded guilty to assaulting mum-to-be Sammy-Joe, 22, when she appeared at Canterbury Magistrates Court last week.

The unemployed former carer, who as well as living with her ex and younger brother Ed Head used to work alongside them both, didn't take the news of the pregnancy well and struggled to accept their secret relationship.

how love blossomed

they say the course of true love never did run smooth and in the case of sabrina clark and sammy-joe kelly it perhaps couldn’t be truer.

in a tale that wouldn’t look out of place on a soap opera, the couple’s romance blossomed after they met in a wetherspoons in 2009 and started texting each other.

after only three weeks together clark moved in with sammy-joe and her nan irene kelly, 67. despite sharing a volatile relationship, consumed with paranoia and rage, the love birds lived in victoria park for a year.

despite breaking up briefly in june, 2010 they decided to get their own place, round the corner in beach street, with sammy-joe calling it make or break. clark’s brother ed head, 17, also moved in with the couple.

things between the girlfriends didn’t improve and they called time on the relationship in october. feeling guilty about leaving clark, 20, in the lurch to pay bills, sammy-joe decided to continue living in the flat.

the situation between the pair continued to deteriorate and in early december both unemployed ed and carer sammy-joe left.

around two weeks later things took a twist.

“i guess i started to see ed in a different light.

“then ed was round at my nan’s one day having a shower and i saw him coming out the bathroom.

“he was surrounded by steam and in a towel, he was slimmer than he is now. things then went from there.”

The court heard how on March 20, loved up Sammy-Joe was out with 17-year-old Ed and other friends at Vivid nightclub in Herne Bay.

Clueless Clark, who now lives just two doors down from the couple in Victoria Park, Herne Bay, was also in the night spot and followed her former lover into the toilets.

When cornered sober Sammy-Joe apologised and said they needed to get on with their lives. She then left the club with her toy-boy and got into her car.

Clark ran after them and started hammering on three month Sammy-Joe's windows.

Fearing she would break them, scared Sammy-Joe got out in a bid to calm down drunk Clark, who was unsteady on her feet due to the amount of alcohol she had knocked back.

Clark started getting in her face, and in a bid to protect his girlfriend, Ed also got out of the car and pushed his sister.

She fell into Sammy-Joe's bulging belly and is said to have told her she hoped her baby died.

Seething Clark then punched her in the face and stomach. She was arrested the next day and later charged.

Fearing she may lose the baby Sammy-Joe rushed to hospital with painful stomach cramps, however after a series of tests doctors gave mother and baby the all clear.

Sammy-Joe, who was three months pregnant at the time, was however covered in bruises and had a black eye.

Defending, Phil Rowley said: "It is an unfortunate set of circumstances.

"The defendant regrets her brief loss of self control.

"Kelly and Edward Head had a relationship behind her back and she felt betrayed, by her partner and brother and was deeply upset.

"Matters were then made worse by the pregnancy.

"When mixed with alcohol emotions take control and the defendant is not going to repeat her behaviour.

"She has had a challenging life and was brought up in care and adopted. She now lives with her birth mother, who has mental health problems.

"It was all an emotional cocktail and she has little recollection of the evening. She is mortified at this one off incident.

"She has left the place where they all worked and has a new set of friends.

"She wants to put this matter behind her."

Having pleaded guilty to assault Magistrates handed Clark a 12 month conditional discharge, and she was ordered to pay £85 costs and £50 compensation.

Knitting fan Ed Head has disowned his sister after she beat up his pregnant partner.

The 17-year-old former Whitstable Community College student, cried when he found out his first serious girlfriend Sammy-Joe Kelly was pregnant with his son.

Despite being adopted by different families, he and his 20-year-old sister Sabrina Clark had kept in touch, however when she punched Sammy-Joe in the stomach, he vowed to never speak to her again.

The expectant parents have been busy buying things for the baby, which is due on September 18 and has already been named Connor Joseph Head.

Ed, who now lives with Sammy-Joe and her nan Irene in Victoria Park and volunteers at the Umbrella Centre, said: "I don't see what people see wrong with me and Sammy-Joe, I am legal.

"Before her I'd slept with other people but not had a serious girlfriend.

"I think she likes me because I'm sexy.

"I'm excited to become a dad, there will be a lot of responsibility but I can handle it.

"Most people have been fine with the whole situation and have come round to the idea."
