While summer might be almost over, the sun is shining on one kmfm listener, who will be heading into the weekend with £1,000 in cash.

The Kent radio station's monthly competition Thousand Pound Friday lets listeners enter via text and online to win the cash.

Entries start at 6pm on Thursday and 24 hours later one Kent winner is chosen randomly.

At 6pm this evening, kmfm’s Getting You Home presenters Rob and Numi called August’s winner - and Leo Clark from Tonbridge was the lucky listener to receive the call.

Leo could not believe that he had won; even answering his phone with the phrase “Friday” which was not even necessary to win the competition.

He was on his way to Lakeside to enjoy an afternoon of shopping when he entered the competition. He told Rob and Numi that he would save his prize money.
