Lucky Simon's e-mail surprise

BANK worker Simon Craft has won £20,000 from his Internet service provider simply by checking his e-mail. Mr Craft, 30, of Holborough Road, Snodland, was a lucky winner in the Freeserve Win promotion in which £100,000 worth of prizes is up for grabs every month.

All users have to do is check their Freeserve e-mail inbox for a message telling them they are a winner. When Mr Craft, a customer services advisor at Barclays Bank's head office in London, saw he had won he had to ask his girlfriend Helen to double-check it.

He said: "I was really sceptical at first and neither of us believed it until it was confirmed over the phone. We've always dreamed of going to Australia and now we can go thanks to Freeserve. This is a dream come true. We would have to scrimp and save for our trip Down Under but now we can really afford to splash out."

Keith Hawkins, Freeserve managing director of marketing, said: "We are so delighted to be able to help Simon to pay for his holiday - Freeserve has the largest Internet access network in the UK and this is a big thank you to our existing 2.1 million ISP users and a fabulous incentive to make sure they keep checking their e-mail boxes.

"We are sure Simon will have a lot of fun with his prize and look forward to making many other Freeserve users winners over the coming months."
