A young biker has said he feels lucky to be alive after breaking both his legs in this crash.

Taylor Charatan of Pennine Way, Downswood, was thrown from his super motorbike after he collided with a car.

This was the scene of the accident (above) which happened earlier this month.

Taylor, 20, had finished a shift at Tesco in West Malling High Street and was riding home when the accident happened in London Road, Larkfield.

Emergency services were called to the scene just before noon, and the road remained closed for more than two hours.

He was flown by the Kent Air Ambulance to Medway Maritime Hospital, where he is recovering from his injuries.

The supermarket worker has had a metal plate fitted in his right leg and his left leg has been pinned together, but doctors are not yet sure when he can return home.

Speaking from his hospital bed, the former Oakwood Park Grammar School pupil said: “I’m still in pain but I’m doing physiotherapy every day.

“It’s frustrating lying here but I’ve had loads of visitors. The recovery can take anywhere between five to six weeks."
