RUSH hour traffic on the M20 was delayed this morning in the aftermath of an accident in the early hours.

A car and a double-decker bus were in collision at 1.30am just past the slip road at junction four on the coastbound carriageway of the motorway at Leybourne.

The car driver was taken to hospital with leg injuries. Nobody was hurt on the bus. Police had to close the first lane of the motorway while recovery trucks removed the damaged vehicles and highways officers dealt with spilt fuel.

Although the road was re-opened by 6am, motorists continued to face delays because of the congestion.
