More potential victims of M25 rapist Antoni Imiela are being urged to come forward after he was convicted of another violent sex attack 25 years ago.
The 57-year-old was sentenced to 12 years at the Old Bailey today for raping a woman in 1987.
Imiela, formerly of Appledore, near Tenterden, carried out the attack on Christmas Day near her home in Forest Hill, south east London.
Dubbed the M25 rapist for committing a series of violent stranger rapes at locations around the motorway, was jailed for life in 2004.
He raped seven victims across the south east between 2001 and 2002 - first attacking a 10-year-old girl at Ashford's Stanhope estate.
Imiela was today found guilty at the Old Bailey of raping the woman, then 31, in Forest Hill. She died in 2006.
DI John Foulkes, from the Met Police, said: "It was a brutal and violent attack. I am hoping the verdict brings some closure for the victim's family.
"It is likely that the police are unaware of all his offending. I appeal to the public and in particular to anyone who was potentially a victim of his between the late 1980s or between 1996 and 2002 to come forward and contact my team."
