A man was airlifted to hospital after crashing in a motorbike race at Brands Hatch.
The rider suffered head injuries in the collision at the West Kingsdown circuit yesterday at about 4.30pm.
He was airlifted by the Air Ambulance to Kings College Hospital in London for specialist treatment.
A statement by Motorsport Vision Racing, which runs events at Brands Hatch, said: "On the first lap of the British Supersport Championship feature race at Brands Hatch circuit, four riders fell at Graham Hill bend. The race was immediately stopped.
"Max Hunt, 28, from London, sustained a head injury.
"He was treated immediately trackside by the BSB Medical Team before being transferred to the circuit medical centre and then by air ambulance to King's College Hospital London for further treatment and assessment."
A CT scan was carried out on the injured rider, the statement said.
His condition is said to be serious, but not life-threatening.
Fellow rider Ed Smith was discharged from the medical centre with minor injuries, while those also involved - Anthony Rogers and Lee Johnston - were uninjured.
