A driver has been released on bail after a policeman was hit by a car in Broadstairs.
The officer was walking in the High street on Saturday when he asked an Audi driver to stop as he thought he was using a mobile phone.
As the car pulled over the officer was hit, causing bruising and grazing to his leg and arm.
A 47-year-old man from Romford, Essex was arrested on suspicion of assault and driving offences and released after interview until July 5 for further investigation.
The officer remained on duty after the incident at 6pm.
