Man charged with attempted murder

A Medway man has been charged with attempted murder following an alleged assault.

David Hughes, 40, of Derwent Way, Gillingham, was arrested last Sunday evening.

Police had been called to a flat at Century House, High Street, Rochester where a man had reportedly been stabbed.

Hughes has been remanded in custody and will next appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, January 16.

The 40-year old alleged victim is currently being treated at Medway Maritime Hospital where his condition is described as critical but stable.
